Speaking during the European launch of the new Lexus GS300h – the new entry-level hybrid in the executive GS range – Lexus UK director, Richard Balshaw, revealed that 97% of all Lexus sold in the UK next year are likely to be hybrids. The GS300h’s deputy chief engineer, Yukihiro Kito, als confirmed to MSN Cars that the return of diesel-powered Lexus vehicles is unlikely to happen any time soon – if at all. NISSAN is accelerating plans for a European-wide Quick Charge (QC) network for electric vehicles by giving away 400 new quick charging stations free of charge. These new points will boost existing networks and give EV customers greater freedom and flexibility by effectively extending the range of their car. The new Peugeot 108, revealed this morning ahead of a Geneva Motor Show debut, is Peugeot’s new take on the city car and, certainly at first look, it seems a good effort. We always liked the Peugeot 107 and its ability to look better than its Citroen and Toyota siblings, be nippy and frugal around town and small enough to park almost anywhere. And although the new Peugeot 108 looks more grown-up, it does seem to promise what the 107 delivered but in a more sophisticated package.
